What you put on your skin matters.
Wow! I just read a compelling article on GreenMedInfo.com that echoes what I have been saying for years about the importance of using natural ingredients on your skin. SO MANY products on the market from hand and body lotions, massage oils, face creams and more contain petroleum derivatives or alcohol. Arnica Salve and Boo Boo Salve do not. What gives other salves their body is often a petroleum derivative. (Think Vaseline.) I use natural beeswax for thickening and nothing else. What you put on your skin is absorbed directly into your body and you surely don’t want to absorb artificial preservatives, petroleum, petroleum derivatives or alcohol. Both Arnica Salve and Boo Boo Salve get their potency from natural ingredients, flowers and essential oils. No Bad Stuff!! If you don’t already look at the ingredients on the skin care product labels in the stores and in your home you ought to. It’s an education in itself.
In the hospital
Here is an interesting note. I was recently hospitalized for some minor surgery. While there I got out my trusty Boo Boo Salve. The nurse stopped me and asked if it contained any petroleum. I said no and asked her why. She said that petroleum is combustible and there was oxygen in use. Amazing, right?
Aching backs and muscles rejoice
My chiropractor friends and massage therapists have used Arnica Salve for years to treat aching muscles and backs. I have runner friends who get massages with Arnica Salve after their races. When I get my all too infrequent massages I bring my own Arnica Salve in case my massage therapist has run out.
Boo Boo Salve’s many uses
Boo Boo Salve’s healing, analgesic and anti inflammatory properties can be used for minor burns, cuts, insect bites, eczema, sunburn, diaper rash, moisturizing and even hemorrhoids. Customers call me on a regular basis to tell me how effective it is, especially as a facial moisturizer. I make sure my face is damp and put just a teeny bit of Boo Boo Salve all over my face and then apply sunscreen. Friends and family swear by Boo Boo Salve in the winter for their dry, cracked skin, especially on those fissure that can happen on fingers and heels that are so hard to heal. I have used it on dog and cat injuries for years.
